Men’s kit

Soldiers - (Applicable to anyone, male or female, dressing as a soldier up to the rank of Corporal.)
NB. Sergeants and above should wear higher status civilian clothing.

Neckwear - Small falling band (collar) or neck cloth (stock). Linen or hemp.

Regt Shirt - Loose sleeves fastened at wrist
Yokeless, front opening approx. 10" vertically from neck
Tie or cloth button fastenings. Small collar.
Should extend below buttocks.
Ties to attach to inner stockings. Linen or hemp.
Off white, or any light shade of brown (natural colours)

Regt Soldier’s coat and doublet - To regimental pattern.
Flat pewter, or cloth buttons. 20 down front of coat, 5 on each cuff.
10" rear and side vents.
To be fastened from neck down.
Doublet, (worn under soldier’s coat). To civilian pattern.
Four or six tabs. Cloth or pewter buttons.
Eyes to fasten to breeches. Wool. Linen lined.
Red with mid-green facings. Wool, course linen, doeskin.
Linen lined. Grey, dull brown, drab green, dull blue.

Regt Breeches - To civilian or Regimental pattern.
Buttoned or drawstring knee closing.
Buttoned fly and waistband.
One, two, or no pockets (linen or leather).
Cloth or pewter buttons.
Ties or hooks to attach to doublet.
Wool, linen lined.
Grey, dull brown, drab green, dull blue.

Regt Stockings - To civilian pattern.
Inner: Mid thigh length.
Outer: Over knee to mid thigh length.\-
Linen. Natural colours. Cut cloth, knitted.

Regt Footwear - Latchet shoes.
Startup boots. Brown, tan.

Regt Headwear - Monmouth cap.
'Peter the great' brimmed Monmouth cap.
Felt hat. Natural colours.

Regt Other -
Belt: Leather, 1.5" max width, period buckle.
Pouch: 17th century design.
Eating knife: 17th century design. Natural colours and materials.

Regt Officers and Sergeants -
Officers would wear clothing appropriate to their social class.
They would not have worn uniform, nor did they necessarily wear clothing of the regimental colour.
