The Earl of Manchester's Regiment of Foote, a Parliamentarian regiment of the Sealed Knot Society, was formed in 1981, and it was on the May Bank Holiday of this year that we first took to the field. Manchester's soon became recognised as a strong fighting force and it was during the 1990's that some of our greatest battle honours were achieved. In 1994 the regiment received, from the Lord General, two commendations for outstanding action. Once we had grow in size and confidence we were able, against the odds, to stage a mini muster at Oakwell hall in Yorkshire.

As we moved into the New Millennium we began a concerted effort to do more drill and meet more regularly to keep the momentum that we had been successfully building over the years. This has paid off as we have become stronger both on and off the field.

The regiment has steadily grown in numbers, both combatants and noncombatants. We are chiefly a family orientated regiment and children are encouraged to join in as much as possible. All though we undertake serious commitment to the Regiment we never lose sight of the fact that this is a hobby and that it should be as much fun as possible for everyone involved.

We are actively seeking members and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in pursuing a unique and exhilarating pastime.
